| The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy (MOCIE) inaugurated in February 2005 the Strategic Trade Information System (Yestrade) (www.yestrade.go.kr) to provide relevant information, and make commodity identification and issue export licenses for strategic items on-line, when possible, minimizing the burden of companies. It has been operated jointly by the MOCIE and Korea Strategic Trade Institute(KOSTI).
The system is expected to help enhance awareness on export control by offering information on basic guidelines fortheir export and import activities and greatly improve the speed and efficiency of all related process. It has made it possible for users to coherently and systematically manage all the related business without visiting government agencies. It also helps avoid risky factors beforehand and streamline export-related procedures, thus contributing to promoting the nation's foreign trade to comply with export control and improving the nation's international credibility.
